All about templates

What do they do and how to use them

In RatingsRobot, templates form the backbone of your survey creation process. A template defines the layout, wording, and branding of your survey, offering a quick and streamlined way to design and publish professional surveys without requiring any technical knowledge of HTML or CSS. Each template is fully responsive, ensuring your surveys look great and function perfectly across all device sizes, from mobile phones to desktops.

Templates can be used in various ways. You might create a template for a long-running, "always-on" customer satisfaction survey. Alternatively, you may want a survey active for just a few hours or days to support a specific event, such as a conference, weekend public event, rally, or concert. Setting up a new template is quick, easy, and inexpensive, allowing you the freedom to regularly make changes as needed, to get feedback on different aspects of your business.

In addition, templates can be used with email campaigns where you can send batches of email invitations to customers inviting them to give their feedback on any aspect of their interactions with your business.

We intentionally keep the surveys simple for your customers, with just a 5-Star Rating and an optional comment. Over the years we have found that customers will be much more likely to complete a short and sweet survey rather than a lengthy and tiresome multi-question, multi-page survey, which, let's face it, none of us enjoy.

Example Survey Form

Here is an example of a rating survey form that customers of a logistics business might encounter:

The survey form has two parts - the Survey Header and the Input Field Prompts. The values for these survey form elements are set in the Settings Page.

1) Survey Header:-

How Templates Work

Each survey template you create is unique and can be tailored to specific purposes or audiences. Multiple templates can be created within RatingsRobot, allowing you to ask different questions for different use-cases. These templates include key elements such as:

Wording: The language used in each question or instruction can be fully customized to match your organization's tone and objectives.

Branding: Upload your logo and adjust visual elements to ensure each survey aligns with your brand identity.

Optional Contact Information: Each template allows respondents to provide their name and email address if they would like the business to follow up on their feedback. This helps businesses maintain customer engagement and act on the insights gathered.

Customizable "Thank You" Page: When a respondent submits their survey, a personalized "Thank You" page is displayed. This page can be fully customized, allowing businesses to express gratitude and provide additional information or next steps.

Unique URLs and QR Codes

Once a survey template is finalized, it's assigned a unique URL that can be published immediately. RatingsRobot also generates a matching QR code for each template, making it easy to distribute the survey in physical locations or digital platforms, you can download the QR image as a .PNG file.

This flexibility allows businesses to display their survey links on marketing materials, web sites, social media, emails, labels, menus, posters, or even merchandise and stickers. Use the URL or the QR code anywhere that your customers may see them, use them anywhere you can.

The URL can be found at the bottom of the Settings page in the section "Live URL and QR Code" - see below:

The "Activated" switch can be used to activate or deactivate the survey template either permanently or temporarily.
